Valentines Day is almost celebrated more than Christmas. The average person will actually spend more on Valentines than they do at Christmas. Somewhere along the way people have became confused on the true meaning of Love. Some feel that love is measured with a dollar sign. I, however, feel quite the opposite. Gifts are great, but I would rather give them than receive them and how much I may spend on someone does not in any way measure the love I have for them.
I have always wondered why Valentines Day has to be centered around a big heart shaped box full of chocolates. I also wondered, why parents feel the need to attach a big unhealthy piece of candy, to a piece of paper and send it to my child’s class. If you truly love someone you should care about their health and well being. As you can imagine, I am not the popular parent of the class, as I will send useful, healthy items to that little heart shaped card. We learn our habits, good and bad, when we are young. Once you become older or accustomed to doing or eating a certain way, it is very hard to change. That is why I feel it is so important to start teaching healthy habits at a young age.
Arbonne has a complete line of all natural, vegan, cruelty free products for the entire family. Our line covers beauty on the inside and out, for each stage of life. My daughters religiously use the Pure Mint Toothpaste. They do not use it because I force them too, but because they like it and actually WANT to. They have learned to appreciate all natural healthy food, skin care and organic products. My girls are 10 and 11 years old! They are also huge animal advocates and realize that all living beings are important. Let me say again, they are 10 and 11 years old! I am proud of them. When I have days of feeling like an inadequate parent, I am reminded that I must not be doing all that bad, when they do not ask for fast food or soft drinks, and they actually read the label before they eat it, apply it or chew it!
Love is a grand thing and can never be measured by a dollar sign. Love is caring for others well being and insuring that they live healthy and will be with us to enjoy life. Here is wishing you a Wonderful Valentines Day and many healthy ones to come!!
