Yea for me!!! I am not one inclined to toot my own horn, but I did it!! I accomplished one of my goals today and it feels like I have moved a mountain. I accomplished my to do list, and still made time to play ball in the yard with my girls. We had the most fun. You would have thought I had taken the girls on vacation. They were so excited that mom was actually doing something fun with them. You see, in our household I am not looked upon as the “fun” parent so you see why this is such a BIG deal!
One goal down…I made time to save. Save some time for the much needed fun stuff. See being frugal is not always about the money. However, I do have a money saving tip for you today.
I am not a big TV watcher. I have a few cable shows that I am addicted to, but in order to get those “certain” channels I had to purchase a “packaged” deal. All those other channels are useless to me, but yet I still have to pay for them all. Since I live in a rural area I am stuck with limited cable providers and that really irritates me. So I have come up with a way to save money ,and eliminate expenses for a mere few hours of entertainment. I have found all my shows, and then some, for free on the internet. It is not illegal downloading and I have access to watch them whenever I want. The price of my internet did go up by $5.00, but even with the increase in the one service I still saved over $80.00 on my monthly cable bill.
By changing by cable plan not only did I save money, but I have limited the amount of time the rest of the family sits in front of the T.V. and we have more time together. I am able to still catch the few shows I watch when the kids go to bed.
My goal for tomorrow is to sit down with the rest of my monthly expenses and find some more ways to save, and to continue to enjoy my daughters. They will only be little once and I do not want to miss it!
